Amsterdam, March 26th 2010 – Last night, during the annual International Dance Music Awards (IDMA), Two of our composers got awarded! Armin van Buuren won the award for ‘Best Global DJ’ and ‘Best Podcast’ and tyDi for ‘Best Break-Through DJ. Our partner, Dutch record company Armada Music has again been awarded ‘Best Global Record Label’, Dash Berlin received the award for ‘Best Hi-NRG/Euro Track’, ’ and Armada’s Managing Director Maykel Piron was chosen ‘Best Record Label Executive’.
Armin van Buuren, awarded ‘Best European DJ’ last year, has now been crowned ‘Best Global DJ’. The Dutch DJ, topping the DJ Mag Top 100 for three years already, also received the ‘Best Podcast’ award, for his A State of Trance Podcast.
At 22 years of age, Australian talent tyDi has already been chosen number one DJ of Australia twice. But from now on, the rest of the world will also know him as ‘Best Breakthrough DJ’, the much wanted International Dance Music Award he received last night.
Maykel Piron, Managing Director of Armada Music, won the award for ‘Best Record Label Executive’, a sign of his effort and hard work to make Armada Music the number one dance label in the world.
Dutch DJ/producer Dash Berlin, who has released his debut album only a few months ago and has his own Aropa label at Armada Music, didn’t only perform at the award show but also came to pick up his award for ‘Best Hi-NRG/Euro Track’, for his collaboration ‘Waiting’ with Emma Hewitt.

The International Dance Music Awards, officially part of the Miami Winter Music Conference, is known as the leading award show in the international dance music industry. Awards were presented within 57 categories, of which Armada Music got 6. With more than 60.000 visitors from 70 different countries, the Winter Music Conference is the highlight to many DJ’s, artists, promoters and clubbers.
