Sound Rush is a Dutch hardstyle duo, easily recognizable for being identical twins. This aspect installed their natural ability to fuse two minds into one when operating inside the studio and on stage. Sound Rush radiates the euphoric side of hardstyle, yet they’re keen on playing with boundaries and bringing in fresh versatility. Their creative signature holds a perfect blend between a future-focused approach and a deep connection to the hardstyle sound from which their style emerged.
Even though they’ve been experimenting with hardstyle together for a decade, everything seems to come into full effect lately as Sound Rush has exploded onto the scene. It’s safe to say that the future is shaping up to become a destination of opportunity and success for them. In January 2017, they made their first musical statement as the new official hosts of the HARD with STYLE podcast. A great honor since it represents a rich legacy within the hardstyle landscape and is an ideal platform to transmit their melodic interpretation of the sound.
The rise of Sound Rush set in around 2014, followed by a string of releases that began to define the direction that Sound Rush pursues. Creations such as ‘Froz3n’, ‘Unshakable’ and ‘Lifetime’ serve as a testimony of their musical ideas. Near the end of 2016, Sound Rush announced that their aims are set at going back to their roots. It’s an ode to the hardstyle period from 2007 to 2012 – the sound that they grew up with, adding their own vision to its revival. This means that their focus will be on bringing brand new material, though characterized by a classic flow and packed with elements from the golden era in hardstyle. A clear sign came in the form of their remix of the track ‘Project 1’ by Headhunterz and Wildstylez, featured in the instantly legendary Project One performance at Qlimax 2016. It didn’t take long for more old-school inspired material to escape from the Sound Rush studio. This is perfectly illustrated by the chart-topping tune ‘The Final Enemy’ that deepened the attention from none less than Headhunterz, ‘Gods’ together with Airtunes, and the all saying track ‘Back To The Roots’. And this is only just the beginning of something big unfolding.
In this same time span, Sound Rush initially left a mark through performances at Euphoria, Mayday, Defqon.1 Weekend Festival, CRAFT, The Qontinent and the mainstage of Decibel Outdoor Festival. In the years that followed, they returned to these destinations, but also embraced new experiences by appearing at festivals and events like Mysteryland, Q-BASE, Airbeat One and X-Qlusive Holland XXL. A major milestone for Sound Rush arrived when they took over the RED mainstage at Defqon.1 Weekend Festival 2016, rewarding them with the ultimate boost.
With their path, as clear as day, they continue their journey. A symbiosis between the past and the future of hardstyle is happening – Sound Rush delivers it to you, here and now.
