Brane Kovak

Brane Kovak’s songs have been filling up the dancefloors for more than 10 years now.
England, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands – Brane spent most of his youth changing countries and influences, soaking up the sounds of the current environment. He started his music career in 1999 when his very first release, a cover of Yazoo’s “Only You” lit up the German Top 40, hitting Number 1 in Italy and going Top 10 in several other European countries.  What followed was a string of major releases, from the compilation soundtrack to the US sci-fi series “Stargate” and remixing Top 10 acts such as Right Said Fred and ATC, to more experimental releases on labels like Waterworld, UBL, Sonar, etc..

Moving to the Netherlands he toured European clubs with his electroclash project Taylor Trash before hitting the UK clubs with the release of “The Walk” under the name X-Complex on Nukleuz. Hammered by, among others, BK who licensed it for his famous “Euphoria” compilation and hailed by Mixmag as “one of the best release’s from the Nukleuz stable for a long time”, this electro-house stormer even got featured on UK’s Radio One more than a few times.

After that a string of releases followed, beginning with the release of “Up & Down” under his own name on Data/Ministry Of Sound. The track appeared on several big compilations such as Ministry Of Sound’s “Annual” and received a huge support among some of the biggest DJ names, including Roger Sanchez who played it regularly on his radio show.

Together with Michel Pollen he also writes for and produces Kim Leoni, an up-and-coming dance sensation signed to Robbins Entertainment, whose first two singles, “Again” and “Medicine” became Top 10 Billboard airplay hits on the US radio. Both songs received an International Dance Award nomination in the category “Best Euro Track” at the Winter Music Conference in Miami.

Since signing with Cloud 9 Publishing in 2009 numerous other Brane Kovak  co-writes and releases have appeared on labels like Soltrenz/Strictly Rhythm, Andorfine, Next Plateau, Bip Records, Hi Bias, (including a 10-track chill-out/lounge album “Pure Chill – Karma Lounge”), Zooland, LMDBM, GatesEntertainment and Warner Music, for which he co-wrote Esha’s summer hit “Luna”.

His most recent activities include work on new Kim Leoni releases on Robbins Entertainment, including her upcoming single “Around & Around”, a co-write of Steff Da Campo’s hit “Wasted (In The Morning)”, and several new track signings in Germany, as well as managing, and co-writing/co-producing tracks for Tao Hypah, a young half-Japanese, half-Dutch singer who has already raised a great deal of interest among the labels.
