Carl Barrdahl
Carl Barrdahl (Carl B) is 24 years and hails from Gothenburg, Sweden. He discovered dance music at an early age, listening to J-M Jarre, Vangelis and Ravemission and Trancemaster -CDs. Carl’s schoolmate introduced him to a program called Fasttracker II but he didn’t really get hooked until he tried Fruityloops (now called FL Studio).
After messing around with the program for three years with no earlier music education he produced tunes with quite satisfying results. Inspired by Armin van Buuren, Airwave, Above & Beyond and also by old trancemaster tunes he produced the tune “All Day” in 2005, which was signed to Somatic Sense, then a couple of months later “Radiance” which ended up on the B-Side.
He has recently remixed high profile tracks for big names in the trance industry such as Armas, Acues & Elitist, Selu Vibra, Summer Sessions, Armin van Buuren and JPL and has also written and produced quality tunes of his own in his Carl B guise, including the tracks “Solitude” and “Social Suicide”. Recent releases including “Life Can Wait”, “Chasing Leaves”, ‘Last Summer” and “Giving Up” have been well received and have been supported by many DJ’s. Barrdahl also has an alias called PEAK, and in 2006 he collaborated with Joni Ljungqvist on a project named Peak vs. JPL for a track called Mistakes.
Carl B has definitely merited his growing reputation as a trance remix specialist!
