Marcella
Marcella was born on January 4th 1974, twenty years later she got hooked on the turntables and in a short time she conquered the Dutch dance scene becoming one of Holland’s first female dj’s. Marcella has claimed worldwide dance floors for almost ten years now with her funky house music and is a standout dj / producer in every aspect; she is also known as “the Dutch queen of house”. Next to her brilliant technical qualities as a dj, she also organizes the successful “Planet House Nights”, she hosts her own radio show “Planet House Radio”, she receives full support from the biggest jocks regarding her productions, she remixes for big artists like Seamus Haji, David Vendetta and Taurus & Vaggeli. Marcella was awarded the title “Most sexy dj of Holland 2008” by the Dutch Djbroadcast.nl.
Marcella played in almost every Dutch club and played at the biggest festivals such as Mystery Land, Dance Valley, Sensation, Innercity, Trance Energy, Riverdance, Impulz Outdoor, Welcome To The Future, Lovefield, Solar Festival, Beachbob and the FFWD Dance Parade.
Marcella’s energetic dj sets and appearances where quickly discovered by international promoters and since then she became an established dj in countries such as Italy, France, Germany, Israel, Turkey, Norway, Greece, USA, Belgium, Curacao, Aruba, Indonesia, Spain, Bulgaria, Poland, Kosovo and the party island Ibiza. In 2002 she started hosting her own club nights in Holland, with “Super” at DjCafe Sol Amsterdam and Las Palmas Rotterdam; “Sell Out” at Club More, Amsterdam, and her successful and always crowded “Planet House Nights” at Club Panama, Amsterdam, and Club Catwalk, Rotterdam.
“Planet House” also has its own radio show, compiled and hosted by Marcella herself. The show is broadcasted on DanceTunes Radio.
Marcella is a busy bee; next to her dj, radio and promoter activities, she is also a great producer. In 2005 she released her first single “Solar EP”; her production skills were praised and in a short time her next production “Stabbing Sally” was released on the Terminal 4 label. “Stabbing Sally” had an enormous impact on the dance floors and was picked up by New York house guru Danny Tenaglia, who played the record at Club Space Ibiza (where most hits are born). “Stabbing Sally” became a big international hit and was also licensed to the French Royal Flush label and the English leading label Renaissance. Shortly after that she released the hits “Who’s Your Nanny”, which was supported by the famous Swedish house mafia jock Steve Angello and Dave Spoon, and “Believe In Us”; which had huge support from Laurent Garnier, Roog /Hardsoul, David Vendetta, Dave Lambert, and also airplay at Radio 538, 3FM, Radio Donna, Release Yourself Radio, Radio Decibel and Kiss FM.
Next to her own productions Marcella also is one of the producers of the duo Unisex Inc. Last May she released the track “Bouncing Nipples” which had full support from Erick Morillo, David Vendetta, Michael Gray, Eddie Amador and Roger Sanchez, to name a few. Sanchez gave “Bouncing Nipples” airplay in his Release Yourself Radioshow, and it was ranked four stars by the biggest UK dance magazine Dj Mag.
Logically Marcella received remix requests of many other dj / producers, such as Seamus Haji & Emanuel “If”, David Vendetta ft. Rachael Starr “Bleeding Heart” and her latest remix for the American duo Taurus & Vaggeli “Kommati” which has full support from Carl Cox.
On September 3rd Marcella released her latest work “Inside”, a lovely House record which received an enormous response on the dance floors before it had even been released! “Inside” has the sound of 2008 and completes itself with a special Ibiza Sunset Mix. “Inside” is already in the boxes of jocks like: The Stereo Riders, Angel Manuel, Lucien Foort and Laidback Luke.
