Peter Martijn Wijnia
Peter Martijn Wijnia is an up-and-coming DJ from the Netherlands. In early 1996 the DJ saw a friend of his working with Fasttracker 2 (better known as ftII) he found this interesting and so began to produce. He had piano lessons for over 9 years and wanted to produce trance, his favorite style of music. Over the years he used Fasttracker II, Scream Tracker, Cubase and Cakewalk. Now he is using Reason, Cubase and VST’s as his main producing programs. In 2003 Peter decided to get into Dj-ing and now he plays his own mixes in his Dj-sets.
He released “Magic” with two mixes, original mix and a re-interpretation mix on Emotive Sounds. Both versions played by some great Dj’s all over the world led him then to be asked, in 2006, by Digital Art and Ben Sommerfeld to do a remix of their track “My Name Is Freedom”. Recent releases including “Utopia”, “Twinkle”, “Geek Love” and “Nowadays” have been well received by Dj’s and fans alike, with “Geek Love” and “Nowadays” being named as Tune of the Week on A State of Trance by Armin van Buuren. His latest track “Not The End” has received major airplay by Armin van Buuren during his live performances and ASOT radio shows.
There is still much to be seen from this promising DJ!
